Industry Standards for Security & Trust
A qualified certificate is a public key certificate that is issued by a qualified trust service provider (QTSP) to meet EU regulations such as eIDAS, or the Electrionic Identification and Trust Services regulation. Requirements include face-to-face verification of the user and photo ID. Qualified certificates also meet global ETSI standards.
A PSD2 certificate meets the requirements of the EU Payment Services Directive (PSD2). PSD2 certificates ensure payment service providers meet the requirements for secure authentication and communications protecting both their organization and consumers with Qualified Web Authentication and eSeal certificates.
PSD2 Qualified TLS/SSL certificates support web authentication and encryption based on the eIDAS regulation. eIDAS stands for the Electrionic Identification and Trust Services regulation.
PSD2 QSealC or PSD2 Qualified eSeal certificates are issued to legal entities/organizations to “seal” data, sensitive documents, and other communications to ensure they are tamperproof and originate from a trustworthy source.
A Code Signing certificate assures customers that the software they are using has not been tampered with and is safe to use. It also authenticates the identity of the person publishing the code. Code Signing certificates are used by software engineers and other IT professionals.

Document Signing certificates allow individuals, teams and organizations to add an electronic, digital signature to a document in a variety of file formats to prove ownership. The digital signature is an encrypted hash of your message that can only be decrypted by someone who has a copy of your public key, which ensure documents stay unaltered, the sender’s identity is confirmed, and sensitive information is protected.
