OV certificates are the base level of identity validation offered by DigiCerts, whereas EV certificates add additional layers of verification. Generally, EV certificates are recommended for e-commerce, enterprise use, and organizations who desire the highest level of authentication.
Validation is the process of confirming your organization’s identity before we can issue a certificate for your domain. Secure Site Pro customers are guaranteed priority validation, which dramatically accelerates the process by assigning you a dedicated validation specialist. Depending on the level of validation required for your certificate, the timing can vary—but once you’ve given us all the necessary documentation, we can usually issue your certificate in less than an hour.

Your additional tools and services are automatically activated upon creation of your CertCentral account and can be accessed from within the management platform.
A Certificate signing Request (CSR) is an encoded file that provides you with a standardized way to send DigiCert your public key as well as some information that identifies your company and domain name.
We highly recommend generating a CSR before you place your order.
