Verified Mark Certificates

Verified Mark Certificates (VMCs) are a type of digital certificate that allows email clients like Gmail to present brand logos in email inboxes. The trademarked logos make it easy for recipients to see immediately recognizable brands. This immediate visibility improves trust in the contents of the email and increases open rates.

VMC is the signifier of security and identity, built on enforcement of two standards—DMARC and BIMI. Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance help companies prevent unauthorized use of email servers, protecting against identity-targeted attacks like phishing and spoofing. Brand Indicators for Message Identification allow organizations to add their logo to outgoing email.

Certificate Authorities (CA) issue Verified Mark Certificates after validating the identity of the organization through a process similar to an Extended Validation (EV) TLS/SSL certificate.

Verified Mark Certificates are a type of DigiCert Mark Certificate for Registered Trademarks and government Seals. DigiCert also offers Common Mark Certificates (CMC) for organizations with marks protected by common law or prior use.
